XL Bully Breeds Banned in UK

Published on 31 December 2023 at 13:07

After today XL Bully breeds will be banned in the UK. Approximately over 200 dogs in shelters will be euthanized if not rehomed before the end of the day today. The ban calls for no rehoming, breeding or sale of XL Bully breeds. Being an owner of a bully breed and having first hand contact with many of dogs that are this breed. I do not condone this ban. These breeds pass the temperment test at over 80% every year. This ban will be affective 1/1/2024. The basis of this ban is following recent attacks and deaths involving the breed. But, did you know over 50% of attacks the breed is misidentified as a Bully Breed? Owners will be required to have their dogs muzzled and on leash in public. Which a leash in public should be an automatic. Owners also have until February to apply for exemption in order to keep their pets. I personally think this is a terrible idea!
